HISTORY

The Laguna Rainbow Corporation (LRC) is entrusted with providing services, which enhance the quality of life for elders in the community.

Founded in 1979, LRC will be approaching 40 years of service.  Established by Tribal Council, the original vision was to ensure that the needs of elders are met to preserve their role as wise keepers of our cultural values and traditions. LRC was designed to deliver culturally responsive long-term care programs and services – residential and community-based – on Laguna lands -- with the goal of keeping our elders close to their traditional practices, languages, families, and family homes. LRC was also incorporated to grow and employ local leaders in the long-term care and healthcare fields.

The K'awaika Senior Center was established in xxxx. The Senior Center is funded by Indian Are Agency on aging and Title VI, and tribal, state, and federal grants. The senior center offers congregate meals, home delivered meals, homemaker and caregiver services, non-emergency transportation, health and wellness education, wellness calls and information and referral services.
